This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") governs the access to and use of IPPEDIA (Intellectual Property Professionals Directory & Knowledge Platform).
IPPEDIA is an independent membership-based Intellectual Property Professionals Directory & Knowledge Platform that provides access to factual professional information relating to eligible Members together with Intellectual Property knowledge resources, including Intellectual Property case laws, official IP quick links, legal updates, educational resources and other IP-related information.
By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to comply with this Acceptable Use Policy, the Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy and all other applicable Platform Policies.
1. Purpose of this Policy
The purpose of this Policy is to ensure that IPPEDIA remains a secure, reliable, professional and lawful platform for all Users and Members.
2. Lawful Use
Users shall use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations and professional standards.
3. Prohibited Activities
Users shall not:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose.
- Provide false, misleading or inaccurate information.
- Create fake accounts or impersonate another person or organisation.
- Upload or publish defamatory, abusive, obscene or offensive content.
- Post content that infringes any copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights.
- Attempt to interfere with the security, integrity or functionality of the Platform.
- Upload viruses, malware or any harmful software.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, server or database.
- Use automated bots, crawlers, scrapers or similar technologies without prior written permission from IPPEDIA.
- Copy, reproduce or extract substantial portions of the Professional Directory or Platform database without authorisation.
- Use the Platform to send spam, unsolicited communications or promotional material.
- Harass, threaten or abuse any User, Member or third party.
- Engage in activities that may disrupt or adversely affect the operation of the Platform.
4. Professional Profiles
Members shall ensure that all Professional Profile information submitted to IPPEDIA is accurate, complete and up to date.
Submission of false, misleading or fraudulent professional information may result in suspension or removal of the Professional Profile.
5. Intellectual Property
Users shall respect all intellectual property rights relating to the Platform, including copyrights, trademarks, database rights, software, content, graphics, logos and other proprietary materials.
No User shall copy, reproduce, distribute, modify or commercially exploit Platform content except as permitted by applicable law or with prior written permission from IPPEDIA.
6. Security
Users shall not attempt to:
- Bypass authentication or security measures.
- Test or scan Platform vulnerabilities without authorisation.
- Interfere with servers or network infrastructure.
- Introduce malicious code or harmful programs.
- Access data belonging to other Users without permission.
7. Automated Access
Automated access, scraping, indexing, harvesting or extraction of Platform data using bots, scripts, artificial intelligence tools or automated systems is prohibited unless expressly authorised in writing by IPPEDIA.
8. User Responsibility
Users are solely responsible for:
- Their activities on the Platform.
- The accuracy of information submitted.
- Maintaining the confidentiality of account credentials.
- Compliance with applicable laws and professional obligations.
9. Monitoring and Enforcement
IPPEDIA may monitor Platform usage to maintain security, integrity and compliance with applicable laws and Platform Policies.
IPPEDIA reserves the right to investigate suspected violations of this Policy.
10. Suspension or Termination
IPPEDIA may suspend, restrict or terminate access to the Platform or remove any Professional Profile where:
- This Policy is violated.
- False or misleading information is submitted.
- Platform security is threatened.
- Applicable laws are violated.
- Any activity is considered harmful to the Platform or its Users.
11. Reporting Violations
Users may report suspected violations of this Policy through the Contact Page available on the Platform.
12. Changes to this Policy
IPPEDIA may amend this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Revised versions shall become effective immediately upon publication on the Platform.
