This Profile Publication, Update & Removal Policy governs the publication, modification, correction, suspension and removal of Professional Profiles published on IPPEDIA (Intellectual Property Professionals Directory & Knowledge Platform).
IPPEDIA is an independent membership-based Intellectual Property Professionals Directory & Knowledge Platform that facilitates access to factual professional information relating to eligible Members together with Intellectual Property knowledge resources.
This Policy should be read together with the Membership Policy, Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy and other applicable Platform Policies.
1. Purpose of Professional Profiles
IPPEDIA publishes Professional Profiles solely for the purpose of making factual professional information relating to eligible Members more accessible to the public.
Professional Profiles are intended only for informational purposes and shall not constitute any advertisement, solicitation, recommendation, endorsement, certification, ranking or guarantee by IPPEDIA.
2. Eligibility for Publication
Only approved Members of IPPEDIA may have a Professional Profile published on the Platform, subject to compliance with the Membership Policy and other applicable Platform Policies.
3. Information Published
Professional Profiles may include factual professional information voluntarily submitted by the Member, including:
- Name
- Professional Category
- Professional Qualifications
- Professional Registrations (where applicable)
- Practice Areas
- Professional Experience
- Organisation / Firm Name
- Office Address
- City, State and Country
- Contact Details
- Website
- Professional Biography
- Profile Photograph
- Social Media Links
- Other factual professional information permitted by IPPEDIA.
4. Accuracy of Information
Members are solely responsible for ensuring that all information submitted to IPPEDIA is accurate, complete, lawful and up to date.
IPPEDIA relies upon information voluntarily provided by Members and does not independently verify every item of professional information unless expressly stated.
5. Review Before Publication
IPPEDIA reserves the right to review any information submitted before publishing a Professional Profile.
IPPEDIA may request clarification, supporting documents or additional information whenever considered appropriate.
6. Profile Updates
Members may request updates to their Professional Profile whenever their professional information changes.
IPPEDIA may review any requested updates before publishing revised information.
7. Correction of Information
Where any published information is found to be inaccurate, incomplete or outdated, Members should promptly notify IPPEDIA and request appropriate corrections.
IPPEDIA may update, modify or correct published information after review.
8. Removal of Professional Profile
IPPEDIA may remove, suspend, restrict or discontinue publication of any Professional Profile where:
- The Member requests removal.
- Membership expires or is terminated.
- False, misleading or inaccurate information is identified.
- The Member violates Platform Policies.
- The Profile no longer satisfies applicable eligibility requirements.
- Publication is considered inappropriate or inconsistent with applicable laws.
- Any other reason considered appropriate by IPPEDIA.
9. No Recommendation or Endorsement
Publication of a Professional Profile shall not be interpreted as any recommendation, endorsement, certification, ranking, verification or approval by IPPEDIA.
Users should independently evaluate and verify professional qualifications, registrations, credentials and suitability before engaging any professional services.
10. Public Availability
Professional Profiles published on the Platform may be publicly accessible through search engines and other publicly available means unless removed from publication.
11. Member Responsibilities
- Provide truthful and accurate information.
- Promptly update changes in professional information.
- Ensure submitted content complies with applicable laws.
- Respect intellectual property rights of third parties.
- Comply with all Platform Policies.
12. IPPEDIA Rights
IPPEDIA reserves the right to edit formatting, improve presentation, standardise profile layout, correct typographical errors and remove duplicate or inappropriate content without changing the factual meaning of the information provided by the Member.
13. Limitation of Responsibility
IPPEDIA shall not be responsible for any loss, claim or dispute arising from reliance upon information published in a Professional Profile.
Users should independently verify all professional information before engaging any professional services.
14. Changes to this Policy
IPPEDIA may amend this Policy from time to time. Revised versions shall become effective immediately upon publication on the Platform.
