Profile Verification Policy

This Profile Verification Policy governs the verification process applicable to Professional Profiles published on IPPEDIA (Intellectual Property Professionals Directory & Knowledge Platform).
IPPEDIA is an independent membership-based Intellectual Property Professionals Directory & Knowledge Platform that facilitates access to factual professional information relating to eligible Members together with Intellectual Property knowledge resources.
This Policy should be read together with the Membership Policy, Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions and other applicable Platform Policies.
1. Purpose of Verification
The verification process is intended to improve the reliability of factual professional information voluntarily submitted by Members for publication in the Professional Directory.
Verification helps maintain the quality and integrity of the Professional Directory but should not be interpreted as any form of endorsement or certification.
2. Verification Eligibility
Only eligible Members whose applications have been accepted by IPPEDIA may be considered for profile verification.
Verification shall remain subject to compliance with the applicable Platform Policies and any additional requirements prescribed by IPPEDIA.
3. Verification Process
IPPEDIA may review the information and documents voluntarily submitted by the Member for the purpose of verifying factual professional information.
IPPEDIA may request additional clarification or supporting documents wherever considered necessary.
Verification shall remain entirely at the discretion of IPPEDIA.
4. Supporting Documents
Depending upon the Professional Category, IPPEDIA may request one or more supporting documents, including:
- Government-issued identity proof.
- Professional registration certificates.
- Enrollment or registration numbers.
- Office address proof.
- Professional qualification documents.
- Any other supporting information considered necessary.
5. Verification Standards
Verification is limited to reviewing the factual information and supporting documents voluntarily submitted by the Member.
IPPEDIA may rely upon publicly available information, official records, or documents submitted by the Member wherever considered appropriate.
6. No Guarantee of Professional Competence
Verification does not certify professional competence, experience, expertise, reputation, quality of services, legal compliance, or professional standing.
Users must independently verify all professional qualifications, registrations, credentials and suitability before engaging any professional services.
7. Verification Status
Where applicable, IPPEDIA may display an appropriate verification status or similar indication on a Professional Profile.
Such verification status merely indicates completion of the verification process prescribed by IPPEDIA and shall not constitute endorsement, recommendation, certification, ranking or approval.
8. Member Responsibilities
- Provide complete and accurate information.
- Submit authentic supporting documents.
- Promptly notify IPPEDIA of any material changes.
- Cooperate during the verification process.
- Ensure continued accuracy of published information.
9. Review, Suspension or Removal
IPPEDIA reserves the right to review, suspend, withdraw or remove any verification status where:
- False or misleading information is discovered.
- Supporting documents are found to be inaccurate or invalid.
- The Member fails to provide requested information.
- Applicable Platform Policies are violated.
- Continuation of verification is considered inappropriate.
10. False Information
Submission of false, fabricated, misleading or fraudulent information may result in suspension or removal of Membership, Professional Profile and verification status, in addition to any other action permitted under applicable law.
11. Limitation of Verification
IPPEDIA does not continuously monitor or periodically re-verify every Professional Profile.
Verification represents the status based upon the information available at the time of review and should not be interpreted as a continuing guarantee.
12. Privacy of Verification Documents
Documents submitted during the verification process shall be handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable laws.
IPPEDIA shall take reasonable measures to protect confidential verification documents but cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Changes to this Policy
IPPEDIA may amend this Profile Verification Policy from time to time. Revised versions shall become effective immediately upon publication on the Platform unless otherwise stated.
